The Metadata Working Group Steering Committee is pleased to co-host a presentation by Sandy Hurd of Innovative Interfaces (III). Electronic resource management is a hot area. Numerous libraries have built homegrown systems to better manage licensed electronic resources. Now library systems vendors are considering or beginning to build products to meet this need. This trend is of great interest to some Cornell library staff members, particularly Adam Chandler, due to his close involvement in the DLF Electronic Resource Management Initiative. The DLF project is developing common specifications and tools for managing the license agreements, related administrative information, and internal processes associated with collections of licensed electronic resources.
Innovative Interfaces (III) is the first systems vendor to market an e-resource management system. Sandy will give a demonstration of their new "Electronic Resource Management" product, and explain what led III to build such a product for libraries.
