Description

Marc Dantzker, Tim Levatich, William Sandner, and Jack Bradbury from the Lab of Ornithology will discuss their work on transforming the metadata schema for the Macaulay Library, the Lab of Ornithology's sound and video archive of Animal Behavior.

Marc Dantzker is the Curator of Visual Media and Information Systems for the Macaulay Library at the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. In his role as curator, Marc is project lead for the Macaulay Library's metadata schema development and translation efforts and their online tool development. Tim Levatich is a database designer and administrator for Macaulay Library and other departments at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Bill Sandner is the Lead Software Designer and Developer for the Macaulay Library. Jack Bradbury is Robert G. Engel Professor of Ornithology at Cornell University, and Director of the Macaulay Library at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. He is currently president of the International Society for Behavioral Ecology, and with Dr. Anne Clark, recent president of the Animal Behavior Society, co-hosted an NSF-funded international conference to create an international consensus metadata standard for the field of animal behavior.
