Description

Staff at Cornell University Library (CUL) and the Knight Visual Resources Facility (KVRF) have collaborated in the past year to use the emerging Visual Resources Association (VRA) Core 4.0 metadata standard to provide Web access to image collections developed by the KVRF.

Margaret Webster (Director, Knight Visual Resources Facility) and Marty Kurth (Head, CUL Metadata Services) will discuss the goals of VRA Core 4.0 for cultural heritage communities, opportunities and challenges presented by Cornell image collections, and the operational implications of implementing VRA Core 4.0 and the VRA Core 4 XML Schema in metadata workflows for digital image collections.
